Base Oils Base Oils

Tortue Rouge organic vegetable oils are obtained by using the Biomega™ process which involves pressing the plant material in an environment free from oxygen and light. The very highest quality is ensured by producing the oils on demand.

These oils are suitable for every purpose. They are particularly valuable for their nourishing and skin conditioning characteristics, but can equally be used as carriers to disperse and dilute essential oils.

Tortue Rouge base oils are 100% organic and contain no preservatives. Please note that this improves their value but reduces their shelf life. Please store them as advised on the label.

The use of base oils for animals is a safe way to nourish and take their health to a better level. The oils contain the nutrients in the plant that are extracted in the pressing process. But they can also be used in various ways to help the healing process for animals. While they are not generally used for massage on fur, they can be used on trouble spots, as a carrier for essential oil therapy, which is a new emerging therapy for animals and must be overseen by a qualified therapist. They can also be used for formentations and poultices to hold the dried herb material together. They add their own beneficial effects in this form of healing.

Some oils can also be used internally as a food (see contraindications for each oil and dosage recommendations).
