Applications
Bayberry bark invigorates the circulation and is used to encourage heat and a healthy perspiration. It is particularly useful for inhibiting the production of excessive mucous and it provides valuable antibiotic protection against a range of bacteria. Bayberry bark is a binding, astringent tincture for diarrhoea and dysentery and may help to stem bleeding or haemorrhaging of the lungs and intestine including cases of tuberculosis. Used as part of a gargle, bayberry bark tincture can warm and cleanse the discomfort of a sore throat and it finds an equivalent use in a wash to relieve leucorrhoea.
