About the Product
Many people will have appreciated the complex fragrance of bergamot without realising that they are doing so since the plant extract is a key ingredient in Earl Grey tea. The plant takes its name from the city of Bergamo, Italy where the oil was first cultivated and used for therapeutic purposes in the alleviation of fevers and worms. More recently, practitioners have learned that bergamot offers relief from respiratory conditions including mouth infections, tonsillitis or a simple sore throat and cystitis, leucorrhoea as well as from urinary complications and infections. Bergamot is also believed to have a positive effect on a personís general mental well-being by easing anxiety and depression.
The oil can cause a negative reaction with prolonged exposure to bright sunshine or ultraviolet light.
