Applications
Calendula has been shown to encourage healing and to sooth irritated skin. It had been used historically to settle menstrual irregularity and to energise the liver.
Externally
The diluted tincture may help conjunctivitis, eczema, yeast infections, herpes, gingivitis, ringworm, athlete's foot, varicose veins, as well as minor injuries and skin problems.

Safety Data
No contraindications reported, but people who have an allergic reaction to certain plants are advised to do a skin patch test.
The petals are edible, but the extract should not be used for prolonged periods or at a high dosage

About the Product
Calendula is a bushy, aromatic annual, with lanceolate leaves and striking yellow to orange flowers. The flowers produce an oil which is antimicrobial and which has an anti-oxidizing action that makes it an effective but gentle topical antiseptic. It is very helpful in the treatment of acne and skin infections ; and ideal for dry, dehydrated, irritated and delicate skin - see also Calendula macerate.
Calendula can promote the formation of scar tissue.
