Applications
Geranium oil is a cooling oil with a capacity to restore a sense of calm and proportion to mind and body. It is widely respected as a cleansing and balancing skin tonic able to reduce acne, bruises, burns, cuts and eczema. Geranium will restore lustre and equilibrium to excessively dry or oily skins, gently lift and replenish mature and wrinkled complexions and fade cellulite and water retention.
Generally effective in dispelling anxiety, stress and neuralgia by stimulating the mind and promoting a sense of inner peace, geranium oil is particularly notable for its capacity to bring comfort and relief to those affected with PMT. The oil is a recognised anti-inflammatory and may reduce menstrual irregularities and menopausal complications.
How to Use
Diluted in a vegetable oil, in a vaporiser, in the bath.
Safety Data
Geranium oil is held to be non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitising though there have been reports that it has caused dermatitis in some hypersensitive individuals.
About the Product
Although some of the 700 different types of geranium plant are grown for the ornamental properties of their profuse and richly-coloured flowers, there are strains that have been used in herbal medicine since antiquity. The oil has a clean, inviting minty scent with a hint of rose and has varied healing properties. Geranium oil is a fine remedy for skin abrasions, infections and conditions and can contribute towards a healthy, lustrous complexion. It may restore balance and vigour to the circulation and it is thought to be one of the best treatments for oedema (water retention), PMT and menopausal difficulties.
