Applications Gorse pertains to a deep-rooted sense of hopelessness or despair. The negative gorse state will often have come about as a result of a protracted, chronic illness, but it compounds the physical misery by forcing the individual to see obstructions rather than opportunities in life. The sense of having given up which is so prevalent in the gorse state is ultimately a refusal to participate in the risk, responsibilities and choices that make up a living existence.
The positive gorse cannot cure physical illness, but it can foster a greater optimism and sense of well-being by bringing a renewed sense of hope and a more accepting attitude towards destiny. The individual will realise that despairing thoughts only lead to unsuccessful actions and ultimately despair impedes the process of recovery. |
