About the Product
True hemp or Cannibis sativa is one of several plants given the name hemp, although the others belong to different families. It is indigenous to India and is cultivated in Eurasia, Chile and the United States. Introduced to Britain by the Romans, hemp was cultivated in the west of England for centuries, as the fibres were used in rope making and in the production of canvas sails. The leaves and flowers are widely used for their intoxicant and psychoactive properties, although the sedative and analgesic properties of the plant are also well-established. Hemp seed oil does not contain the psychoactive components present in the rest of the plant. The tincture has been used for the relief of genito-urinary complaints.
