Relaxing Breaks in the Beautiful Herault

Domaine de Laval de Nize All Tortue Rouge Courses and Workshops are based at the Domaine de Laval de Nize - two lovingly restored old buildings in a tranquil river valley setting only a few kilometres from the bustling village of Lunas and under an hour from Montpellier international airport.

The Main House has been rebuilt and brought subtly into the 21st Century. After two years’ hard work it emerges as one of the most delightful small hotels in this glorious corner of the Herault region of the Languedoc Roussillon. Mobile phones don’t work here and there’s no TV in the very comfortable ensuite rooms, but everyone seems to appreciate the peaceful 200 organic acre setting where you can still hear nightingales at night. The Main House is also home to a purpose built teaching lab and seminar theatre so providing the perfect setting for learning and development.

The smaller house is given over to ensuite bedrooms, and two small studios. It has a kitchen and dining area which we reserve for our vegetarian/vegan cuisine.

The Val de Nize is a great place to come and unwind and just be. Throughout the summer there’ll be an on-site massage therapist offering individual treatments and pampering using our gorgeous oils. There’s also a pool and high quality organic food most of which is grown within the Domaine or sourced locally.

We’re presently re-vamping the hotel website to reflect the fact that to preserve the tranquility of our lovely valley we’ve decided to dedicate the location to stress-busting relaxation and courses linked to the healing power of plants. Workshops and Courses

Our 2008 programme of courses and workshops for both the public and holistic health professionals will be published at the end of January. Events will include:
* Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for professional aromatherapists and complementary therapists.
* Business development workshops for salon owners wanting to expand their range of treatments.
*Natural beauty workshops for everyone to show you how to make your own organic skin care products.

All courses are residential and include delicious organic food with an imaginative vegan/vegetarian option. Partners are welcome at no extra cost (other than meals) if you’ve reserved a double ensuite for your sole use during your course. The course fee also includes pick up from Montpellier International Airport (or Carcassone by arrangement) or Montpellier Station (TGV with link to Eurostar) by air conditioned minibus. We pick up twice a day on course arrival days.

Make your own natural beauty regime - we're delighted to organise private parties and weekends for small groups

Such has been the interest in our Make Your Own Natural Beauty Products Course in the National Press that we are now pleased to offer small groups – minimum 8 people please - exclusive access to our teaching lab where we’ll teach you how to make your own cleanser and toner, face mask and moisturiser. Courses can be tailored to group needs and can include a ‘face reading’ session – what you eat and how you live can dictate how you look and feel!

You can also get hands on experience making massage bars, ointments, hand creams, body butters, spa salts, and lip balms.
