Macerated Oils Macerated Oils

Also known as herbal oils or infused oils, macerated oils were the first tools of the first aromatherapists. They work extremely well when combined with essential oils to provide full spectrum treatments.
As with all plant therapy, quality is key.
Tortue Rouge macerated oils are prepared by steeping very fresh organic plant matter in glass carboys full of high quality organic vegetable oil. The carboys are tended daily and the oil is left to absorb the plants' goodness for at least 30 days of full sunshine. Additional plant matter is sometimes added during the process, depending upon the strength of maceration required. They are filtered by hand and give superb results.
Macerated oils make excellent, nourishing massage oils and can help many different complaints from earache to eczema. They may also be added to base oils to give an enhanced therapeutic action Use them neat or add 5-10% to a blend.
Our most popular macerations are available not only in cold pressed organic sunflower oil but also in organic olive oil.
