About the Product
Willow-herb is widely used in Central Europe for the treatment of prostate disorders. Recent research, notably at the Université de Lausanne, has confirmed that it has anti-inflammatory properties and an inhibitory effect on the enzymes that transform testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone). It therefore has a healing effect on acute and chronic inflammation of the prostate and can help to reduce the gland to its normal size. It is recommended by many naturopaths that all men over the age of 50 take this herb regularly as a preventative and to maintain prostate and bladder health.
Willow-herb also has antibacterial properties and is useful in the treatment of urinary system disorders. It is used to relieve post-operative burning on passing urine; can help the free flow of urine generally and is particularly useful for Prostatitis caused by a bacterial infection. It is also said to be antitumor and antiprostadenomic (inhibit prostate cancer).
