Used externally it is capable of treating slow healing wounds, insect bites, ulcers, sore throats and candida, as well as oral yeast. It has a very positive effect on mucus membranes and for that reason is successful when included in a gargle or rinse for the mouth and throat to help clear up inflammation.
An infusion of golden rod can be used as a face wash for oily skin and when added to a bath can help to tone up flabby muscles and skin.
